AN epic thunderstorm kept many residents awake last night as lightning lit up the skies and torrential rain lashed down.
After days of increasingly hot and humid weather, the heavens finally opened and gave our lawns and plants a much needed watering.
While some deep sleepers missed last night's dramatic electrical display, Surrey residents woke up to listen to the roaring thunder and enjoy views of the forked lightning.
