Collins storms to Caterham Rotary Half Marathon win

MORE than 150 people took part in the Caterham Rotary Half Marathon at Redhill Aerodrome on Sunday.

Runners from local clubs including Reigate Priory Athletic Club, Lingfield Running Club, Oxted Runners and Horley Harriers raced, but it was London Heathside athlete Matt Collins who finished first in one hour, 20 minutes and 48 seconds.

Haywards Heath Harriers' Josh Pewter came second in 1:22.40, while third place went to unattached runner Stuart Pearce (1:23.22). South London Harriers' Natalie Harvey was the first woman over the finish line, fourth overall, in a time of 1:23.45.

Priory's Steve Rhodes (1:34.25) was the first east Surrey-affiliated runner to finish, in 17th.
