8:53am A Level results: St Bede's
It was also a record-breaking year at St Bede's with only two exams failed out of almost 450 taken. Of those 60.7 per cent of grades received were in the A*-B category.
Assistant head teacher and head of sixth form, Karen Tottey, said: "We are all delighted with such outstanding results, reflecting hard work by students and staff, but also reflecting a year group that was exceptional in its commitment and sense of community - and fun. We are thrilled that so many will be able to move on to excellent opportunities in Higher Education and beyond."
8:36am A Level results: Reigate Grammar
First school out of the gate is Reigate Grammar, which is celebrating it's most successful year of results ever with an increase of around 13 per cent in the number of students achieving an A*-B grade.
Students are celebrating a 100 per cent pass rate with 93.8 per cent of grades achieved in the A*-B range. The 12 Oxbridge students all got their places.
Head teacher Shaun Fenton said: "The beaming, smiling faces of our students made today special. I am so proud of them. The climate for learning and intellectual curiosity here means that RGS students achieved these stunning results whilst also achieving the most Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Awards in the UK for the second year running, producing three sell out drama productions, securing national success in sports competitions and performing in more music concerts and clubs than I can count
