SOUTH Park assistant manager Malcolm Porter hailed Burgess Hill Town as the best side his team have played this season after the Hillians won 4-1 at Whitehall Lane last night (Tuesday).
Park were put to the sword by an impressive Burgess Hill side, with the visitors racing into a 2-0 lead inside 12 minutes before adding a third goal before half time.
The hosts did pull a goal back after the break, but the Hillians restored their three-goal advantage soon after as they ran out comfortable winners in the Ryman League Division One South clash.
And Porter said the Hillians were good value for their win, adding that they were the toughest opponents Park had faced in their first seven games since winning promotion from Combined Counties League Premier Division.
"Tooting & Mitcham were very good, but these guys you could tell have been in this league for a long time," he said.
"They have some very good players and they knew exactly what they were doing and were very professional about it.
"They are quite a bit ahead of us in terms of their development, shape and systems, and we struggled to cope with them.
"They have a very good team and they fully deserved their win, even if we did give them a couple of goals."
South Park will now look to bounce back against Faversham Town on Saturday.
