AN ENGLAND netball player recently returned to Caterham School to help coach its teams.
Jo Harten, who plays as either goal attack or goal shooter, played in a series of test matches against the top two nations in the world during a recent six-week tour of Australia and New Zealand.
But on her return to the country, she visited Caterham School to work specifically with the shooters, providing a lunchtime shooting clinic for the U12, U13, U14 and U15 girls and an after-school clinic for the U16 and senior shooters.
Harten also worked with the U14 girls during their games session, while she gave each of the shooters a programme, based on that followed by England.
The school's head of netball, Jaclyn Leach, said: 'All the girls are very grateful to Jo for coming back to Caterham to run some more valuable coaching sessions.
"Some of the girls who had the coaching with Jo earlier in the day were able to demonstrate immediate improvement in the afternoon. We wish her well when she returns to New Zealand in January to play semi-professional netball in the ANZ league.'
