A YOUNG man suspected of drug dealing has been arrested after being caught on CCTV in Woking town centre.
The 19-year-old man was spotted behaving suspiciously in Chertsey Road by CCTV operators around 6.30pm on Tuesday (December 18).
Officers were sent to the scene and the man made off on foot but was found and detained nearby.
A bag containing between 25 and 40 wraps of white powder were found in a bush close to where he was stopped and he was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class A drug.
A number of mobile phones and drugs paraphernalia were found following a search of the man's home address in Romford.
The man was taken into custody and questioned and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries. He is due to return to Woking police station on 11 February 2013.
Woking Neighbourhood Commander Inspector John Davies said: "Information from a member of the public and the vigilance of our CCTV operators led to the swift arrest of a man believed to be dealing drugs in Woking town centre."
