HAVING previously lost to an experienced Cobham team by three goals, Caterham Cougars' senior team came out fighting on a wet, cold morning and took a convincing 20-10 victory over Clapham. Notable performances came from Sophie York and Emma French.
Meanwhile, Caterham Cougars U15s continued their unbeaten run when they played last year's South East League champions Cobham in an away league match, winning 11-5. Captain Emily Thompson was back on the pitch after an injury which sidelined her for three months.
A quick goal from Roberta Lack opened the game before Cobham equalised.
Cougars then took hold of the game and goals were scored by Holly Mead, Hannah Owen and Pippa Lloyd.
Cobham then scored a second well-worked goal but Eloise Bull set up Anna Simonova to make it 5-2, before Mead added the sixth before half-time.
Another two good goals were conceded before a lovely strike by Anna Brown and a hat-trick from Simonova made it 10-4.
Cobham sneaked a further goal before Georgia Tuckett's long-range effort settled the scoring. On Sunday, the U15 team are away to W4.
