THAT was a very convincing performance, the boys played really well.
It was tight when we played over there and the boys felt they needed to perform and they came out of the blocks flying which was nice to see, I think we were 10-0 up after the first five minutes or something like that.
Guernsey are a competitive side, they kept playing and kept trying but our defence was outstanding and we took our chances when we had them.
We are in really good form at the moment and we watched the Guernsey video from when we played over there earlier in the season and we have definitely upped our game.
Guernsey were not as strong as they were then, though, and it's difficult for those boys to travel every week and we knew that they would be tougher at home than they would be going away, but I don't think anyone else has put 50 points on them.
They caught us on a really good day, we played some excellent stuff and it's always nice to have a 50-pointer just before Christmas.
We missed out on the Staines game and being able to build up points and had we had that game, we would probably be on a par with everyone else when it comes to points difference, but our defensive record is, I think, second best in the league and if you can't score against us you're going to struggle to beat us, but what I do know is we are playing attractive rugby.
We're top at Christmas and I'm really pleased with that, it's all good at the moment, but January is looming large and we've put a schedule in place for the break and the boys are up for the challenge and I'm sure they will do what they can to enjoy themselves over Christmas but also to keep on top of their fitness so we're ready to go in the new year.
