Police seek information following robbery in Epsom

Surrey Police are appealing for information after a 14-year-old boy was robbed in Epsom.

The boy was walking along Waterloo Road with a friend when the offender approached on a black mountain bike.

The offender punched the boy in the face and stole his iphone 5. He then made off on foot having discarded the mountain bike.

The incident took place on Thursday 27th at around 5:40.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Lewis Flanagan, from Epsom CID, said: "I would appeal to anyone who has any information on this incident to contact officers with information".

"This kind of behaviour simply will not be tolerated and we need to find the person responsible and bring them to justice."

Police also believe that the mountain used by the offender was stolen moments earlier from outside a William Hill bookmakers on Waterloo Road.

Officers from the Epsom and Ewell Safer Neighbourhood Team will be carrying out reassurance patrols in the area and anyone with concerns surrounding this incident is urged to contact them.
