VISITORS to Polesden Lacey were treated to a live ice sculpting demonstration on December 29.
Artists from Hamilton Ice Sculptures fashioned a two-metre-high statue of the estate's former owner Lady Greville, as well as one of a griffin.
"Many of our sculptures are created behind closed doors," said Jack Hackney, one of four expert craftsmen on the Hamilton team.
"It was refreshing to be able to showcase how we work and to be able to answer questions.
"Working in the outdoors after all the rain we've had lately also presented a lot of challenges, but I was really pleased with the results."
Andrea Selley, Polesden Lacey's general manager, said: "Ben and Jack certainly didn't disappoint. We moved the ice sculpting up to the Stable Courtyard so that visitors could watch the team work from under our canopy."
