THE broadcast of a TV show filmed in Dorking has been delayed due to "scheduling conflicts".
Mayday was due to be shown on the BBC in autumn 2012, but Kudos Film and Television producer Chris Fry told the Advertiser the five-part thriller is now likely to be shown in March.
The show, from the makers of Spooks and Life On Mars, was filmed at locations in the town, and dozens of residents will feature as extras.
Mr Fry said: "It was supposed to be shown sometime late last year but as far as I know there were some scheduling conflicts at the BBC. They are changing the dates and are now talking about airing in March.
"It is not uncommon for this to happen in the industry and I have no worries about it not airing at all. I am sure something will be sorted with it soon."
Filming started in Dorking in May last year, with the production crew temporarily based at Pippbrook House for office space, costumes, make-up and actor's dressing rooms.
Locations used included Red Bar in Dene Street, which became The Wolf's Head, nearby Sea Breeze Fish and Chips, transformed into Mustapha Kebabs, and Cotmandene, where the series' opening scene was filmed.
Mr Fry said: "It was a great shoot all round and I do not think we could have chosen a more ideal setting than Dorking for this programme.
"The weather held and the locations were perfect.
"We had a lot of local people play supporting roles in the show and they did a great job. We are excited about its airing."
The cast includes Sophie Okonedo (Hotel Rwanda, Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls), Aidan Gillen (The Wire, Game Of Thrones), Peter Firth (Law And Order, Spooks) and Lesley Manville (All Or Nothing, Another Year).
Jane Featherstone, chief executive of Kudos, which is making the series for the BBC, said: "Mayday is a highly authored serial from Ben Court and Caroline Ip which has attracted a brilliant cast and takes an original look at a familiar story.
"There are no police incident rooms, autopsies or crime scene investigations. Instead this is about a town facing the reality that the killer is among them, one of them."
