A "BONKERS" estate agent is preparing for a mud-ridden endurance challenge – which he aims to conquer wearing his work suit and carrying a briefcase.
Simon Would, of South Street, Dorking, will tackle 12ft walls, fire and 10,000-volt electric shocks during the Tough Mudder 2013.
"Mudders" are told the 12-mile route, designed by military special forces, will "punish you".
"Everyone thinks I'm mad," said the 27-year-old. "I think they're partly right."
Mr Would, who works at Haart estate agent in Dorking High Street, will take on the challenge with colleague Emma O'Neill and four other teammates.
He hopes to raise £3,000 for the estate agent's children's charity, Magic Moments.
Mr Would, who previously took part in Dorking's Gala Night in a Grinch outfit, is the only one dressing up for the occasion.
"The challenge is to see if I can get to the finish line with my briefcase," he said.
"I am hoping, wearing the suit and with the briefcase, it will catch people's eyes and get them to donate.
"The problem with our job is we are sitting in a chair ten hours a day in an office job. It is hard to stay fit. I am in the gym every day, shedding the Christmas weight I put on."
The former rugby player, who attended the Priory School, hates long-distance running and is focusing on upper-body training.
The charity, Magic Moments, supports children's hospices and aims to provide kids aged one to 18 free-of-charge and memorable experiences. This includes an annual visit to Disneyland Paris for the children and their families.
Charity spokesman Stephen Wright praised the Dorking team's efforts.
He said: "While we're all at home sat in front of the fire watching Splash or Dancing On Ice, they're out training hard and doing everyone proud."
The Dorking Mudders will attempt the challenge near Brighton on the weekend of June 8-9.
The exact location of the course is yet to be revealed.
