THREE goals in the opening 31 minutes set Leatherhead on the road to victory at home to Eastbourne Town on Tuesday night.
And while the score is closer than it might have been, the Tanners were well worth the three points, and never really in danger of relinquishing them.
The night belonged to Tom Bradbrook, who gave the home faithful a glimpse of what they have missed so far this season due to injuries and the striker getting married.
He scored twice, the first of which was an absolute stunner, and could have completed a hat-trick with another pearler, only for it to come crashing back off the underside of the crossbar.
Eastbourne had already been given a warning of the interplay between the Leatherhead front men when Sonny Cobbs was required to head away from his own goal-line after Kev Terry had dinked a cross over keeper Josh Pelling's head.
They did not heed that early warning though and on seven minutes the hosts had the lead.
And it was a lovely flowing move, too.
Terry started it, on the edge of his own box, winning the ball and then knocking past a visiting midfielder before playing into the feet of Bradbrook in the centre circle.
Terry went on the run, down the left hand side, and, with the visiting defence on the halfway line, Bradbrook played a gorgeous ball round the corner for Terry to chase.
With the freedom of the park, the Tanners man drew the keeper, but rather than slotting past him, he unselfishly squared for the onrushing Mark Simmons to tap home.
Terry was involved again 12 minutes later when Bradbrook scored with a strike that could grace any stadium in the world.
Twenty five yards out, side on to the goal, he collected Terry's knock down and out of nowhere he swung his right boot at it and sent a sweet volley on the spin into the top corner of the net.
Stunning, and definitely a goal of the season contender.
The game was effectively over in the 31st minute when Bradbrook, who looked suspiciously offside, beat a defender in the air and toe poked past Pelling for 3-0.
Terry should have made it four on the stroke of half-time, but his shot somehow got stuck underneath Pelling's body and turned out to be a good save.
Bradbrook had one arm in the air in celebration four minutes after the break when he smashed another dipping volley over the Eastbourne keeper's head, only to see it come back off the underside of the crossbar and out.
Goal-line technology anyone?
Simmons scooped a shot towards the top corner, which Pelling tipped away for a corner as the Tanners were rampant.
But 18 minutes from time Eastbourne grabbed a lifeline when John Lansdale curled a beautiful free-kick over the Leatherhead wall and past the despairing dive of new signing Mo Maan in the home goal.
Eight minutes later and it was 3-2 when another set-piece was flicked on by a Tanners head and substitute Kenny Pogue cracked a fine volley into the top corner from a tight angle.
Suddenly Leatherhead looked in trouble, from a position of comfort, but there was to be no drama as they held on for all three points in an entertaining contest.
