RICHARD Brady likened his Leatherhead team to the Harlem Globetrotters on Tuesday night.
The star-studded American basketball team are famous around the world and for 45 minutes at least against Eastbourne Town, the Tanners played like them.
Brady said: "In the first half we looked like the Harlem Globetrotters. We moved it, we popped it, we passed it and we showed what we're capable of."
It's hard to disagree with him after his side blew their opponents away, and while the end result was closer than it might have been, there was no doubting who deserved the three points.
Brady added: "It could have been more, we probably should have gone in at half-time 4-0 up and then it's all over, but I think we'll take being 3-0 up at half-time. They came back at us, but I'm happy.
"I think we dropped off a little bit and invited that pressure, we needed to keep possession of the football a lot better, but it's three points, three wins on the bounce and there's a lot of positives to take out of that."
Special praise was reserved for striker Tom Bradbrook, who notched two of the three goals and had it not been for the underside of the crossbar, would have taken the match ball home as well.
Bradbrook, who has not been a regular this season due to a knee injury and then getting married most recently, gave the Leatherhead fans a taste of what they have been missing with a stunning display on Tuesday night.
"Leatherhead haven't seen anywhere near the best of Tom Bradbrook yet," admitted Brady as he said that the striker's first goal reminded him a bit of Peter Crouch's goal for Stoke against Manchester City last year.
And Bradbrook was a happy man afterwards.
He said: "I've hit that first goal perfectly, you don't get many of those, that was up there with the best of the goals I've scored. Out of 20, 19 would go over the bar and one will go in the top corner, so it definitely rates highly.
"That has given me some more confidence. I would have loved the match ball, if that volley had gone in, and I thought it was in, I had one hand in the air because you know when you hit it well and I can't believe it hit the bar."
Now Bradbrook believes the Tanners can build on three straight victories and move up the Ryman League Division One South table. He added: "We all know we're a quality side, you have a lot of good players in the team and sometimes it takes time to play the way we want, but the atmosphere is much better now, we've got a lot of confidence and I think we'll move on now.
"This league is tight, there's always a chance to get back up there if you go on a run and if we put six or seven wins together we'll be right up there and we're capable of that.
"In the first half we absolutely peppered them and we just need to do that every single game and if we do that no one will beat us."
