A HEAD teacher has pledged to "never stop" until her school achieves the highest Ofsted rating possible.
Godstone Village School received a "good" rating following its latest inspection by education watchdogs.
Head teacher Marcia Goodwin said: "We are determined to get better and better and we will never stop trying to get an 'outstanding' report."
The good rating is the first the school has received since it became a full primary school in 2008.
Mrs Goodwin, who joined the school five years ago, added: "We were inspected two years ago and received a 'satisfactory' grading when we only had our third Year 6 class and measures were still in place to transform the school."
She added: "We have worked hard to ensure provision across the whole school is consistently good and this report recognises the progress and achievements that have been made."
The report, published last month, says all pupils show a real sense of pride in their school. It goes on to praise all areas of the Ivy Mill Lane school, particularly commenting on the progress children make, the expectations of the teachers, the safe environment, and pupils' behaviour, noting that "pupil behaviour is good overall, their attitudes to learning are excellent and they behave extremely well in and around the school".
Support for disabled pupils and those with special educational needs is also praised, along with the improvement in quality of teaching.
The efforts and successes of senior leadership as well as the school governors were also noted.
"We have all worked hard together to make sure we improved since the last inspection in 2011," said Mrs Goodwin.
"We have three areas that we need to improve in and we are continuing to tackle these. There is already some excellent practice in these areas, but now we need to concentrate on rolling this out across the whole school."
Areas for improvement highlighted in the inspectors' report included marking, feedback, and precise target setting for pupils.
