A 43-year-old has been arrested after a man allegedly threatened another man with a gun in Epsom Downs.
Police, including armed units, were initially called to the area at 3.50pm on Tuesday. The alleged victim was found uninjured.
The investigation later led officers to a house in Hazel Way, Chipstead, and also to Reigate, where the 43-year-old man, who is from Chipstead, was arrested on Wednesday evening.
He remains in police custody.
Investigating officer Detective Inspector Sean Kelly from Epsom CID, said: "Understandably this incident has caused some concern in the local community and I hope residents are reassured by this arrest. We have been making extensive enquiries over the last two days which may have caused some disturbance to those living and working in the area. I would like to thank members of the public for their patience whilst these enquiries were carried out."
