Bookham Torpedoes U13s won a hard-fought match on penalties against premier division opponents Oxshott Royal Gladiators in the quarter-finals of the Senior Plate competition.
Bookham resisted early Oxshott pressure by neatly playing out of trouble from deep inside their own half.
They then took control of midfield and were rewarded when George Austin won the ball, passed to Jacob Harle, whose superb through-ball allowed Dan Catt to slip the offside trap and finish well with his left foot.
Minutes later, Max Winter's well-worked cross was only half cleared and the advancing Oliver Richardson hit a rasping shot into the top right corner.
As the half ended, Oxshott secured a lifeline as their fast and powerful number three burst through the Torpedoes defence with a fantastic direct run and neat finish.
Oxshott found their feet in the second half and carved out the better chances on the counter-attack.
In an attempt to counter the threat, Bookham added the pace of Ben Hoyland into central defence but even he was powerless to stop Oxshott's number three scoring his second.
With the tempo lifted, both sides hit the crossbar and keeper James Middleton made a miraculous goal-line clearance to keep Bookham's dreams alive, but the teams could not be separated even after ten minutes of extra time.
A save from Patrick Gilbertson and success from the spot for Harle, Richardson and Cameron Terry was enough to seal a 3-1 win and see Bookham through to the semi-finals.
