OXTED Hockey Club slipped to fifth place in the Men's Conference East after a final day defeat at home against Bromley and Beckenham this afternoon (Sunday).
The O's went into the clash looking to end the season on a high, having been knocked out of the cup at the semi-final stage by Premier Division side Surbiton last week.
But Oxted crashed to an eighth league defeat of the season, with their opponents leapfrogging them into fourth as a result.
Bromley and Beckenham opened up a 2-0 lead with goals from Peter Dobson and Nicholas Bluett either side of half time.
Andy Cornick pulled a goal back for the O's on 55 minutes, but Daniel Walsh struck from a penalty corner in the final minute to seal the win for the visitors, avenging defeats in the league and cup earlier in the season.
The result means Oxted finish fifth in the table on 22 points.
Meanwhile, Oxted Ladies' Investec Women's Vase semi-final clash with West Bridgford Monarchs was postponed today.
The match has now been rescheduled for Sunday, March 31 at 11.30am.
