THE unseasonable winter weather is continuing in Surrey, even though we are now in the first week of April. Remorseless easterly winds have been blowing in the icy weather from Scandinavia. Last night the bone-chilling wind was blowing at speeds of up to 25mph at Kenley Airfield with the temperature only a couple of degrees above freezing.
At midday in Reigate, the temperature stood at just 1C with flurries of snow from a cold, leaden sky blowing around. No problems have been reported on the roads, but gritters have once again been out and about.
