AN AWARD-WINNING choir has raised more than £1,000 to help elderly people stay in their own homes. Vocal Dimension, an all-female choir based in Redhill, held a special concert on March 23 at Redhill Methodist Church in support of MHA Live at Home.
The snow on the ground did not stop the group's Sounds of Spring event, which also featured renditions on the harp and a duet from choir members Valerie Taylor and Emma Duguid, under the name Elle Vivo.
The choir opened and closed the evening and got a standing ovation from the audience which packed the the Gloucester Road church.
Choir member Claire Miskin said: "The evening was a complete success, raising over £1,000 for the charity. There was an overwhelming response from audience members. [We] are very grateful to those who came to support the event and helped make it such a success."
MHA Live at Home provides in-house care for elderly people.
