AFTER four years of persistent anti-social behaviour a tenant has been evicted from his Council owned property in Addlestone.
The residence was a two bedroom flat on the fourth floor of a block of eight similar properties, where there have been significant problems in the past.
Disturbances at the property included loud music being played, screaming and shouting, banging around, arguing, and fighting- the nature of which caused considerable distress for other residents.
Runnymede's Business Centre Manager for Housing, Jane Margetts said: "Thanks to the help of Surrey Police and other tenants we have been able to evict this nuisance neighbour. Without the statements from residents and their courage to act as witnesses in court, it would not have been possible to obtain the possession order to take back the offender's property."
Neighbourhood Specialist Officer Chris Madeley said: "Anti-social behaviour which blights the lives of other people will not be tolerated. I hope this successful outcome shows that police will work with the local authorities and local residents to take action against those responsible and I would encourage anyone with similar concerns to come forward."
