Manor Avenue and Park Avenue residents have planted five trees in the grass verges along side their roads. The cost of these five trees was raised by donations and was done partly to replace trees that have died over the years and also to stop cars parking on the verges. The driving force behind the planting was Mary Mountain, former chair of Caterham Hill Parish Council, who has been going through the necessary licences and paperwork for almost two years. Caterham Hill Parish Council supported the work, whilst local farmers Nick and John Dance were asked to do the actual planting. In total two Cherry and Three Rowan trees were planted and it is hoped that more will soon be planted.
