Tandridge Trust Taster Day
Want to get fit and try something new? Tandridge Trust has organised a tantalising treat for spring. The Tandridge Trust Taster Day is being held at Soper Hall on Saturday 27 April, 10am -3pm with a host of different arts and sports for all ages.There will be sessions in Astanga and Hatha Yoga, three types of Dance, Bokwa and Cheer Fit for adults and young people, as well as Little Dance and Mini Soccer for children.If you're after the chance to start a new hobby, staff will be hosting workshops in Painting, Choir singing, Clay modelling and Jewellery Making. Julia Thomas will also be on hand with a fantastic Create Art and Craft Club for younger children.The cost for this day will be £7.50 adults, £5 concessions (children and young people under 18 and the over 65s) children under 6 are free of charge. On Friday 17th May 2013, a quartet of Gipsy Swing Instrumental and Vocal musicians will perform at The Arc, Caterham.From traditional East European folk music to Beatles, from Django Reinhardt's celebrated compositions to Simon & Garfunkel, the group enjoy entertaining the widest variety of audiences. Tickets are priced at £25 (this includes a two-course meal) and is a perfect night out for you and your friends as their music is accessible, breathtaking and clever.In the last ten years the group has been voted the Best Gipsy Swing Group in Europe seven times. Classical Guitar Recital
John Mills, the legendary British guitarist, will be performing a wide-ranging programme of classical guitar music on Saturday 4th May, at 7.30pm in St. Mary's Church, Church Road, Caterham. Tickets (£10, concessions £8) can be bought at the door.This is a rare chance to hear an internationally acclaimed guitarist who will be playing an instrument made by Ramirez, the most celebrated guitar-maker in the world.For any further information contact Ted Howard on 01883 349225.
Caterham Art Group
As well as the monthly demonstrations and two Saturday workshops, members of the Caterham Art Group head outdoors during the summer months to enjoy a spot of sketching in the local area. Arrangements are very informal so everyone can do their own thing. On April 24 they are heading to Southwark, on May 22nd they go to Heathfield Gardens in Croydon whilst on June 20th they go to Godstone Green.The indoor meetings include a mixed Media Demonstration by Liz Seward on 15th May at the Douglas Brunton Centre.
