THE best in disability and integrated arts in Surrey will be celebrated in Leatherhead this week.

The Spring DAiSY (Disability Arts in Surrey) Festival will take over Leatherhead Theatre tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday.

Using every inch of space the theatre has to offer, there will be workshops to join, performances to see and hear, artworks to explore and artists to meet.

On Friday evening, the Freewheelers Theatre Company will perform their new dance piece, Africa, in front of a backdrop of artwork created by artists from the area.

They will be joined by singers Lissa Hermans – best known for singing the National Anthem at the closing ceremony of the Paralympics last year – and dance group Dramatize.

Saturday night will feature three performances by Stopgap Dance Company, and the Freewheelers Theatre Company will perform again.

Book for the workshops at www.daisyfest.wordpress.com, where the full festival programme is also available.

The evening performances start at 7.30pm and tickets cost £5, available from the box office on 01372 365141 or at www.theleatherheadtheatre.org
