Man arrested after Oxted, Godstone burglaries

A man in his 20s has been arrested and charged in connection with two burglaries in Tandridge. The first burglary occurred around 11am on Friday, 26 April on Broadham Green Road in Oxted where a number of items of jewellery were taken after entry was gained by the patio door at the rear of the property. A second burglary took place around 2pm on Flower Lane in Godstone where again a number of items of jewellery were taken after entry was gained by a door to the rear of the property. Investigating officer Detective Constable Anna Patterson from the East Surrey Proactive Investigation Team, said: "A member of the public called officers after spotting two men acting suspiciously in the area around the time one of the burglaries occurred which allowed officers to make several enquiries which led to the arrest of a man in the London area.
