A trailer carrying four cows overturned on the A24 near Box Hill and Mickleham at 4:30pm on Saturday, causing the road to be shut for around 40 minutes.
The trailer was being driven behind a Landrover when the incident occured.
A crew from Leatherhead fire station attended the scene for around an hour, turning the trailer back over and ensuring the animals were sent safely on their way.
The cows were reported to be a little distressed but unharmed by the incident.
