Former Bucks Fizz star Jay Aston, who lives in Tatsfield, failed to win over the judges on BBC's The Voice programme on Saturday evening.
Jay, now 52, enjoyed glory back in 1981 when four-member singing group Bucks Fizz won the Eurovision Song Contest.
But her comeback met with disappointment last night on the "unseen" talent show when the judges have their backs to the singers as they listen to them.
Jay performed a Muse song Time Is Running Out - but none of the four judges turned around to express interest in her during the song.
One of the judging panel Jessie J said: "The song choice was so hard.
"It stayed too kind of safe."
Colleague Danny O'Donoghue said: "No disrespect but it sounded a bit chalk and cheese."
While Tom Jones quipped: "On a lighter note, bucks fizz is my favourite drink."
