Nutfield History Group
Some years ago, the Nutfield Local History Group, decided to change omitting the word "local", thereby widening the scope of their studies.
This has certainly been a popular move and has led to several wide ranging and assorted talks, followed up by fascinating visits.
Unfortunately their May speaker has had to cancel due to family illness.   The group are thankful once again, stepping out of their immediate vicinity, and studying instead, The Life and Times of Jane Austen,  whose 200th anniversary of her most popular novel "Pride and Prejudice" fell this year.   The speaker will be Blue Badge Guide, Dawn Blee.
The topic fits very nicely into their recent studies of notable regional characters, as her home was in Chawton, just over the Hampshire border.   Moreover, they could then include an outing to Chawton in their 2014 programme, if this would be popular.

The History Group hope, therefore, for a good attendance and a full house at Robert Denholm House, Bletchingley Road,  Nutfield on Wednesday May 22nd at 8.00pm.

Plant Sale

St Peter and St Paul's Church Nutfield, is holding a plant sale this Saturday between 11am and 2pm.

There will also be a bric-abrac and jewellery stall, a raffle and a silent auction for a petrol mower, plus tea and cakes.   The church is situated on Church Hill and there is a car park opposite.
