A COUPLE who have been foster parents for nearly 40 years have spoken of the rewards of the role.
Graham and Pam Cribb have looked after 250 young people, and are now fostering five children aged five to eleven for Surrey County Council.
Father-of-three Graham said: "We love it when children bond and become part of the family.
"It's about relaxing them and doing things they enjoy."
Surrey County Council says 800 children and young people need a foster family every year in the county.
Monday marked the start of the national Foster Care Fortnight, to promote fostering.
Mary Angell, Surrey County Council's cabinet member for children and families, said: "Graham and Pam are fantastic examples of the great job our foster carers do.
"But we're always keen to find more to help children who haven't had the best start look forward to a brighter future."
