On Saturday 15th June from 10-4pm there will be another Caterham Festival Archaeological Dig at Queens Park, Caterham. Sponsored this time by Caterham Rotary Club this will be your chance to come along, with your family and try your hand at a 'Time Team' themed dig. See what is buried in part of the original settlement of Caterham, helped by the Surrey Community Archaeologist. Last year saw the unearthing of Victorian, Medieval and even Roman artifacts. Maybe you just want to help photograph and catalogue the finds onto the dig website, or just come and talk to local historians. There is something for everyone and all ages. There is now a Facebook and Twitter site. It is a free event but donations accepted to help keep the Festival going.
