Tandridge Community Fund has made their largest donation so far when they presented a cheque for £1,000 to the Caterham Community responders.  The responders are all volunteers who assist the ambulance service with emergency calls, but being local they can often get there much earlier.  Dawn Lewin said 'Caterham Community responders were set up in 2009 but we need more volunteers and equipment to do this vital work.  We are very grateful to the Tandridge Community Fund and the Community Foundation for Surrey for this generous donation which will enable us to purchase another Defibrillator and medical kit.  It will enable Jill Greaves, our new responder to be fully equipped and able to help us with this vital work in the Caterham area.'
The Tandridge Community Fund is an independent organisation set up in 2008.  It now has £120,000 invested and is able to make grants from the interest. If you would like to volunteer as a community responder in Caterham or elsewhere around Tandridge please call John Kempton on 01883 716616
