On Bank holiday Monday, members of the Surrey Hills gliding club at Kenley aerodrome hosted a very successful Gliding day. Twenty Five people were able to have a trial flight during the day and all the profits have been donated to the St Catherine's Hospice. Organiser Julie Pescod from the St Catherine's Friends Group said 'It was a wonderful day in glorious sunshine. The views you get whilst up there are brilliant. You can see the whole of Caterham from a totally different angle.' Sheila Vaux, a member of the St Catherine's Friends Group also had a chance to fly for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. She said 'it's so quiet being up there, I'd love to do it again. I watch the gliders fly over my house every day but never had the chance to try it'. Over £650.00 has been raised for the St Catherine's Hospice.
