Beavers and Cubs from Woldingham spent the weekend camping at the local Scout Camp site in Chaldon. The group of 18 enjoyed rain, as well as good food and good company. On the first morning the Cubs were all up at 5am trying to light fires but the following day they had a lie in until 5.30am. 'It was light, so we got up' was the answer when asked why they were up so early.
The boys and leaders went on a 4 mile hike around Chaldon visiting Chaldon Church and having their first try at geocaching, the free real-world, outdoor treasure hunt. They had to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using a smart phone and GPS and can now share their experiences online. Group Chairman Kenny Lam, owner of I.D. Chinese restaurant supplied a Chinese meal for everyone on the Saturday evening. For more information on Woldingham Scout Group please call 01883 340000
