POST offices in Reigate and Horley are being refurbished and will reopen with extended hours of business.
Both facilities, inside Martin McColl newsagents, will be closed for a week from Tuesday, June 4 while the work takes place, but the retail businesses will not be affected.
The business hours of Reigate Post Office in High Street, will be extended by 24 hours per week when the facility reopens on June 10. The new hours will be Monday to Friday 7.30am to 6pm, Saturday 8am to 6pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm. Horley Post Office, in Consort Way, will be open for an extra 11 hours per week. The new hours of opening will be Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 5.30pm.
The refurbished facilities will have five serving points.
Post Office regional network manager for South and East England Mark Lawrence said: "This investment makes a commitment to no more branch closure programmes."
While the counters are closed, Horley customers are advised to use Salfords Post Office, in Brighton Road or Lee Street Post Office, Meath Green Lane, Horley.
The closest post offices for Reigate customers during the work are The Belfry Shopping Centre in Redhill and Woodhatch Post Office in Prices Lane.
