SOME of the finest stage performers in Surrey were celebrated on the final night of the Leatherhead Drama Festival.
A packed auditorium at the Leatherhead Theatre watched on as famed thespian Virginia McKenna presented the winners with their awards on Saturday.
The final night comes after two weeks of performances from some of the best junior and adult groups in the county, with festival chairman David Brett hailing it the best yet.
"It is certainly up there among those finest, if not the very finest," he said. "We are very pleased to have had Virginia here to present the awards in what was our tenth anniversary.
"This is my last year as chairman of the event having done it for the past nine years so I am very happy to see it has gone as well as it has.
"All the groups enjoyed themselves and we witnessed some brilliant performances of different types so it's been a fine and fitting end to a most pleasing tenure."
Cobham Players were named adult winners for their rendition of John Godber's September In The Rain, while Dorking's Applause Youth Theatre picked up best junior group with Burn.
Lara Queiros, who played Anne Frank in George Abbot School's The Diary Of Anne Frank was proclaimed best young actress, with Andrew Chalmers in St John's School's The Prawn King winning best young actor.
Kate Chambers' performance as Lucy in On Love led to be being crowd best adult actress, with Jason Lambert as Jack in 'September in the Rain picking up the best adult actor.
