A GREAT effort from the Chipstead bowlers saw them prevail in a low-scoring encounter at Cobham Avorians on Saturday.
After losing the toss, Chipstead were inserted at Convent Lane, with early wickets reducing Chipstead to 28-4.
However, Ben Watson (27no helped to steady the ship with Stephen Capron (8), before Alex Dombrandt (12) also provided support to help the team climb towards 100.
Venkatesh Parthasarathy (4-8) did his best to stop Chipstead passing the hundred, but they eventually were bowled out for 105 from 30.4 overs.
The total looked a modest one, but on a tricky wicket, it proved to be more than enough for Chipstead.
This was largely due to the excellent disciplined bowling display from the bowlers, with Salil Oberoi (3-13), Nathan Heal (3-19) and Elliott Noble (3-22) helping to dismiss the hosts for just 82.
Captain Nick Woods (1-5) also weighed in with the final wicket as Chipstead made it three wins from three to sit second in the table.
