NEIL SAKER admitted that his Reigate Priory side were "completely outplayed" as they crashed to a ten-wicket defeat at home to Wimbledon on Saturday.

Priory were put in to bat by the visitors and they collapsed to 60 all out in 33.3 overs, with Neil Turk (3-16), Jack Snape (3-25), Marc Smith (2-4) and Darren Hooey (2-15) doing the damage for Wimbledon.

Priory opener Michael Foster (17) and Steven Hirst (12) were the only batsmen to reach double figures as three players went for ducks and Priory plummeted from 20 without loss to 60 all out.

And Saker said his side had to hand it to their opponents for their superb bowling display.

"I didn't actually think we batted that poorly," he said.

"That sort of thing can happen in cricket and fair play to them, they bowled and caught really well, particularly in the slips."

In reply, Wimbledon knocked off the runs in just 8.4 overs, with Turk (29no) and Hiran Mirambe (28no) seeing the visitors home without the loss of any wickets.

And Saker admitted his side were never really in the game.

"We could only really go out and try and emulate them from their bowling," he said.

"It was always going to be a tough ask, but we just weren't good enough.

"If we are honest, we were completely outplayed."
