Caterham-based millionaire tycoon David Gold has accused some football agents of "behaving like wild animals." West Ham FC chairman Mr Gold said controls need to be put on some agents who seemed hell-bent on stripping money away from football. He told ESPN: "Ninety nine per cent of agents are acting in the best interests of their clients but there are a few who behave like wild animals. "They get a sniff of blood, or a sniff of money in this case, and are ferocious in trying to get it. "The current setup of a fixed period for player transactions is a necessary evil of the game. "The alternative is a free-for-all where clubs could sign players all year around, and that would create permanent instability. "What I would like to see is a way of bringing down the curtain on the transfer window before the season starts."
