The report into the death of Gloria Foster could be published next week, according to Surrey County Council. At a meeting of the adult social care select committee earlier today, Sarah Mitchell, strategic director for adult social care, said the authority regretted how long it had taken to provide answers and hoped to be publishing a full report soon. "The report will be published in full and on our website," she added. "We regret the delay and we don't want to take any longer on this. We're looking, hopefully, to be publishing [the report] next week or the week after." It is not known what will be contained in the report but many question remain unanswered surrounding the death of the Banstead widow, nearly seven months after she died after being abandoned for nine days with no food, water or medication when Surrey County Council failed to realise they had become responsible for her care. The mix up happened after Ms Foster's care givers, Carefirst24, was closed in a Border Agency raid. Friends of Ms Foster have been demanding answers ever since but despite efforts to get to the bottom of what happened, the council has remained tight lipped. Hazel Watson, leader of the Liberal Democrat opposition spoke after receiving answers to a written question submitted in the meeting. "My main concern has been that the process of the investigation has been open and transparent and the report in to the death of Gloria Foster is published as soon as possible."
