FIREFIGHTERS have warned an entire school could have gone up in flames after three people were seen starting a fire in the grounds. Police have been called in to investigate the incident at Fetcham Village Infant School late last night. A crew from Leatherhead Fire Station was called to the school in School Lane shortly before 11pm. Watch commander Tony Hartwell said: "Three people were seen setting fire to wooden hardboard, used for crafts, which had been left outside the school, inside the school grounds. "The actual cost of an act like this can be huge. "It starts off small, but things like this can set a whole school on fire which would cost the people of Surrey millions and be a loss to the community. "If anyone has any information on this I would urge them to contact police." The fire had burned out by the time crews arrived. Any witnesses can call police on 101.
