BRITISH Transport Police officers investigating the theft of cycles from Horley and Redhill stations have released images of two men they would like to speak to in connection with the thefts. Investigators believe that the men pictured have key information about what took place. PC Mark Chambers is investigating a theft from Redhill station on August 14. He said: "The victim, a 32-year-old woman from Reigate, had secured her bike at the station around 5.30am on Wednesday, August 14. "When she returned around 6.30pm the following day, she found that her bike was missing and that the lock had been broken." Regarding a second, seperate, incident at Horley Station on August 19, PC Chambers said: "A bike was stolen from the cycle racks at Horley station. "The 29-year-old victim left her bike at the station around 7.45am, and upon returning later at 6.45pm she discovered that her bike was missing and the lock had been cut." PC Chambers added: "Sadly, bicycles remain a desirable target for many thieves at train stations. However, BTP is cracking down on this type of crime. We are undertaking plain clothes and high profile operations to catch thieves in the act. "Thieves should also be aware that most cycle racks are covered by CCTV so it's only a matter of time before we track you down. "We are also working closely with cycle and second-hand shops in the area and are monitoring online auction and advertising sites to make it more difficult for thieves to sell on stolen property. "If you recognise the men pictured, or know his whereabouts, then please get in touch."
