OXTED U14s caused an upset by putting in an outstanding performance to beat higher league opposition in Seymour Villa in their second Tandridge Spring Challenge match.
Oxted began quickly, going ahead within five minutes. A swift counter attack saw Jordan Heylligar play the ball through the defence for Jack Smith to run into a score his tenth of the season. The lead was doubled when Charlie Smith crossed in for Heylligar to battle for the ball, before turning and shooting past the keeper. Seymour scored just before half-time.
Early in the second half, substitute Alex Dyer was fouled 30 yards from goal. Right-back Tom Thomson took the resulting free-kick and saw his powerful effort straight into the top corner of the goal. Seymour again pulled one back, however Oxted soon shut them out with three quick goals.
Ollie Wells shot on the edge of the box however his shot rebounded to the feet of Alex Dyer to score Oxted's fifth. The sixth came with a long ball from Adam Murrell for Callum Taylor to run onto a shoot under the keeper. The final goal of the game came from a Jack Smith corner, which Charlie Smith headed in.
