BURGLARS got away with an estimated £10,000 haul after a break-in at a Caterham grocery store.
They struck at the Nisa store at Raglan Parade in Chaldon Road at about 11.30pm last Tuesday (6).
The security shutters were forced open and the front door smashed to gain access.
Hundreds of packets of cigarettes, as well as cash and phone cards, were taken.
Owner Sritharan Tharmaraja said: "In my 18 months here this is the first problem we've had.
"Residents around here are really nice, and I think people from outside the area did this."
The shop was closed for much of the following day, and police forensic officers carried out investigations.
