POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision between a van and a motorbike in Redhill.
The incident took place in Brickfield Road, close to the junction with Prince of Wales Road, shortly after 8.15am today when a silver Ford Transit van collided with a blue Honda motorcycle.
The motorcycle rider, a man believed to be in his early fifties, suffered serious injuries to his pelvis, torso and feet and was taken by air ambulance to St George's Hospital in Tooting.
His injuries are currently believed to be life changing but not life threatening.
Following the incident officers closed Prince of Wales Road at the junction with Green Lane and Dayseys Hill and the junction with Crab Hill Lane.
Both Brickfield Road and Prince of Wales Road were fully reopened shortly after 11am.
