Police appeal after man suffers head injuries in Epsom assault

Detectives from Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Epsom. Officers were called to The Clock Tower on Epsom High Street at around 1.50am on Saturday after reports of an altercation at the location. A man in his 20s was found with head injuries and was taken to St Georges Hospital in Tooting for treatment. A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault (GBH) and has been released on police bail until Wednesday, 2 July while the investigation continues. Investigating officer Detective Constable Kerry Akehurst, said: "I would ask anyone who saw the actual assault or the events surrounding it to contact officers with information as we need to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident." Anyone who witnessed the incident but has not yet spoken with officers is urged to contact Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference 45140040011.
