DETECTIVES from East Surrey CID are appealing for information following a sexual assault on a school girl in Ewell. The girl, who is of secondary school age, was walking along playing fields off Station Avenue towards Meadow Walk between 3.50pm and 4.30pm on Friday, 6 June when she was approached by a man who touched her inappropriately. The offender then left in the direction he arrived towards Station Avenue. The incident was reported to Surrey Police on the evening of Monday, 9 June. Investigating Officer Detective Constable Jo Clarke, said: "I would appeal to anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously in this area around the time of the offence to contact officers with information as it may prove vital to our investigation. "Following this report the Epsom and Ewell Safer Neighbourhood Team will be working closely with schools in the area and the local community to reassure them and to help find this man and bring him to justice for this offence. "I would also ask anyone who has their suspicions around someone they know which is known to frequent this area to share this information with us. "The victim and her family are being supported by specialist officers who will be there for her throughout the investigation." - See more at: http://www.surrey.police.uk/news/witness-appeals/all-witness-appeals/article/9779/ewell-schoolgirl-assaulted#.U5f5WDEaRPo.twitter
