THIRTY-FIVE firefighters are at the scene of a huge blaze at Ken's Autos in Hamsey Green.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Limpsfield Road at 11.17am following reports of an explosion.
There are six engines on the site tackling the fire which has engulfed half the workshop.
Fire crews from Purley, Croydon and Addington are at the scene, and the crew in Godstone are on standby.
One man has been treated for smoke inhalation.
The road has been closed.
One witness has said the sky is black with smoke.
This is the second fire to break out at the garage in six months.
In January, a small part of the workshop was damaged and car was gutted in a blaze.
Fire crews cooled a cylinder which could have exploded when exposed to heat. The cause of the fire was not known at the time.
More to follow.
