RESIDENTS in the Walton area are being told to expect property flooding from the River Thames.
The Environment Agency issued a Flood Warning at 4.35am on Tuesday (November 27) for the stretch of river at Sunbury from Walton Bridge to Kenton Court Meadows including Wheatley's Eyot and Sunbury Lock.
Areas to the north of the Thames including Longwood Business Park and Kempton Park Race Course are also included.
A warning issued by the Environment Agency this morning said: "River levels have continued to rise in response to the rainfall over the last few days.
"Property flooding is expected, particularly in the Sunbury and Walton area."
Rain is expected to continue throughout today (Tuesday November 27) with some heavier showers in places.
A Flood Alert is in place for the stretch of the River Thames from Shepperton to East Molesey, including Walton-on-Thames.
The alert, which means residents and businesses should be prepared for possible flooding, was issued by the Environment Agency on Friday (November 23).
It said river levels remained high and were expected to rise further in the next few days.
