A MOTHER and son were burgled at knifepoint in their home in Puttenham on Sunday, November 25.

The aggravated burglary took place at an address in Highfield Lane around 9.25pm when three men, armed with knives, forced entry to the property.

One of the burglars punched the 55-year-old male occupant in the face, before pushing his elderly mother to the floor and stealing cash from her purse.

The suspects then took more cash and a jewellery box from other rooms before leaving the scene in a small dark-coloured hatchback vehicle.

The first suspect is described as black and of a stocky build, the second suspect is described as white and of medium build and the third suspect is described as white.

The elderly woman, who is in her 90s, was treated for shock at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford.

Detective Constable, Andrew Skoglund, investigating, said: "This was a despicable attack on two vulnerable residents who have been left extremely shaken by their ordeal. Being threatened at knifepoint in your own home must have been terrifying for them.

"Our efforts are now focused on identifying the suspects responsible and we are carrying out numerous enquiries as part of our ongoing investigation.

"However, we cannot do this alone and are appealing to the public for their help and any information which could prove useful."

Witnesses are urged to get in touch with Surrey Police on 101, quoting crime reference number GD/12/10599, or, by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
