DRAWING pins were allegedly thrown on to the tracks during a Redhill bike race.
The incident occurred at the NorwoodHill circuit, near Gatwick, where Redhill Cycling Club were racing on Saturday.
The tacks, thought to be placed on the circuit deliberately, caused riders to puncture in the closing stages of the race.
Some riders shared their frustration on Twitter.
Jamie Francis (@JamieFrancis_95) said: "Tacks on the road at the Redhill RR, an annoying end to an otherwise good race. Punctured 1mile from the finish."
Rob Sharland (@sharl4nd) said: "So this is what happens if you race your bike legally in Surrey? They're drawing pins. #nimbys."
